If you haven’t yet heard about LinkedIn Company Business pages, you will soon. And if you don’t already have one, you might want to add it to your 2015 to-do list.

Company (or Business) pages are different from your LinkedIn profile. They bring with them a different potential and layer of brand image. When they first appeared on the scene, they were nice to have and easy to set up. But as they morph and advance they are becoming a bit more complex. You may have noticed their new additions such as the “Follower” feature and “Status Updates”  (new tools to help businesses communicate better with followers).

If LinkedIn chooses in the days ahead to add additional features, such as Follower Inbox Announcements and HTML enabled company pages, LinkedIn Company Pages will become a must-have for every business in the country, if not the world.

So, what are some reasons why you should have a “Company Page” on LinkedIn?

1. Creating your own LinkedIn company page gives you more exposure in addition to more visibility to your business, products or services. Remember: your target market continually seeks information related to companies relevant to themselves. Be there for them.

2. Your company page allows you to have followers. This will allow those who do choose to “follow” you to stay up-to-date on your company’s news, updates and or announcements of new services, etc.

3.  Company pages allow you to post your products and services. You can also add videos to each of those product and service listings. This helps you to showcase what you can do and all that you have to offer.

4. Don’t forget those recommendations. Just like your own profile, satisfied customers can now easily recommend you, your product, or your service. Stay one step ahead of your competition!
